About Me image
My name is Brieonna Posont and I grew up in South Lyon Michigan. I have a brother and sister who are both younger than me, and we spend a lot of our time together encouraging each other in extracurricular activities and volunteering at our grandmothers church.

I was very involved in many activities growing up, I participated in softball, karate, dance, cheer, as well as a peers program where I helped other students who were in need of extra help in their general education classes.

I spend my free time traveling, babysitting, dancing, and spending time with my family and friends.

I currently attend South Lyon High School, and i'm committed to attending Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant Michigan. I am going into pre-dentistry and i'm still undecided on my college major.

I love exploring Michigan by going to cities I have never gone before with friends, and living like there is no tomorrow.

Cheer

I participated in cheer leading for South Lyon High School from 2017-2018, although I only cheered for one school year I had an amazing experience. Through cheer leading I learned about teamwork, time management, and responsibility. In cheer if you did not show up for practice your whole stunt group could not go up, so you not only had to be there, but you had to be there on time. Cheer leading is also a very dangerous sport so you had to stay ahead and focused, or you would be at risk for injuring yourself or others if you were not being responsible. Overall cheer leading was one of the best experiences that I will never forget.

Dance

Dancing has always been a hobby of mine, I have participated in many dance competitions through my dance studio. Dance taught me valuable life skills such as hard work, determination, and sportsmanship. Since I was 11 I wanted to become good at my art which called for hard work and lead to determination. At a young age I learned that you can't always win and you have to be a good sport, and keep adhering through not only dance but life itself.

Peer

I have been a peer for four semesters of my high school career. The peer program was designed for students to help kids in general and special education. Although the program is not seen as a traditional elective, I see it as the most beneficial. I find nothing more powerful and moving than to take an hour out of your day to help someone rather than taking a traditional art class you can take anytime. Peers has taught me patience, kindness, and sympathy.

References

Andrew Klebba

Mr. Klebba was an art teacher of mine since Junior year. Inside of the classroom I was either a student learning from his teaching, or a student helping out the kids with special needs in his classroom. Throughout the two years of knowing him he said he would be my reference because he believes I am caring, hardworking, and a good role model.

Anita Yiatras

Anita Yiatras has two children who I have babysat for the past 4 years. Throughout the years I have formed an amazing relationship with Anita. Not only did I learn about childcare, but I also learned about patience, creativity, and most importantly responsibility.

Mario Lake

Mario Lake took me under his wing last year when he accepted me into his modeling program which introduced me to a whole new world. He has given me so many opportunities in that career field. He taught me about dependability, creativity, work ethic, and so much more.

What is your greatest strength? What is your greatest weakness?

One of my greatest strengths would be the pride I have on my customer service and people skills. Although I have only had one job I absolutely loved being a cashier. I loved shocking people with the joy they didn't know they needed in their day, and because of it I got a lot of compliments during my shift. I feel like my greatest weakness is that I am too critical of my own work. I have always tried to be perfect; however, I often find myself wasting time. Fortunately now that I am aware of this weakness I try to remain conscious on how I use my time, and I have found my work to be more beneficial.

Describe your school attendance record.

When I first started high school it became harder to miss school because it became easier to get behind. High school taught me that everyday is important, and that showing up to school  means being more prepared for days to come. I usually miss a few school days per semester due to sick days or appointments, but these absences have fortunately taught me how to plan ahead and manage time.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years

In 10 years I will be 28 years old, I like to see myself  living in the quiet part of a nice yet popular city. I hope to have a big house, and a spouse to live in it with me. I enjoy living in the present, so looking 10 years in the future is a challenge for me. I feel like life is a journey that you don't want to spoil by knowing how everything's going to pan out.

If a customer asked you a question, and you didn't know the answer, what would you do?

I would politely inform the customer that I wasn't sure about their question, and I would try to help as best as I could, but I would definitely ask a manger for assistance to ensure the customer gets the best possible answer.

Tell me about a time when you successfully led a group of people?

A time I successfully led a group of people would be when I substituted for the special education kids yoga teacher. Since i'm a peer I would go with them to yoga every Thursday; however, one week he could not make it to school, so I volunteered to go over the routine since I've done it before. The teachers were ecstatic when I offered.

What was the last gift you gave someone?

The last gift I gave someone was a keurig, and this gift happened to go to my Mom on Mothers Day. My Mom is the most selfless person I know, and for years I knew she has always wanted a keurig. Finally I took the steps to go buy her one... a nice one in the color teal! Her kitchenware is basically all teal, so it went together perfectly.

The Beginning

Central Michigan University

I would like to begin my education at CMU after high school. I'm officially in their pre-dental program, this is where I will be spending the next four years of my life while getting my bachelors in chemistry.

The Adventure

University Of Michigan

After I graduate from CMU I plan to apply to the University Of Michigan School of Dentistry. Here is where I will get most of my dental skills and credibility.

The Goal

licensed Dentist

Lastly after 8 long years I will be a licensed dentist. From then on I could apply for any dentist job, and after I learn the "ropes" I could potentially own my own dental office.
